A new venue will open its doors to the public in Puerto Banus today, as Hard Rock International launched its fifth Hard Rock Café in Spain yesterday. The famous chain has situated its new establishment just opposite the main entrance of the superstore, El Corte Inglés.

The 1000sqm venue received a budget of 2.5 million euros for the installation and decoration of its new branch. The president and CEO, Hamish Dodds, of the franchise was quoted to say, “Marbella is one of Europe’s premiere and most exclusive Mediterranean destinations situated on the scenic Costa del Sol.”

He added, “With its rich Andalusian history and diverse cultural offerings, we are proud to call Marbella home to Spain’s newest Hard Rock Cafe.”

Despite the group’s usual ethos of only launching venues in cities with a population in its millions, the director of Hard Rock Spain told journalists, “Nevertheless, the case of Marbella is special and its attractiveness and potential have made it possible for us to bet on this new location.”

The news is good for locals, as the venue will create in the region of 70 permanent jobs, increasing to 100 during the summer season, along with giving Marbella a promotional boost.
