Information on Marbella
If you are planning on renting long term in Marbella then you have made a good choice as we have lots of villas for long term rent in Marbella. Marbella is probably in the top 5 sought-after destinations in
Spain and one of the most sought-after destinations in Europe. It is a beautiful town located on the Costa del Sol in between Fuengirola and Estepona. The name Marbella is synonymous with good
living, great shops, long days of sunshine and even longer days spent on the beach.
How to Get to Marbella
At only around an hour away from Malaga airport, Marbella is very accessible for holidaymakers and those who like to split their time between Spain and
their home country. To get to Marbella from Malaga airport simply take the A7, heading towards Algeciras, and follow along until you come to the outskirts of
Marbella.
Alternatively, as you reach Fuengirola (around 30 minutes from the airport on the same dual carriageway, you
have the option of taking the toll road (AP7 - the P in the road name stands for Peaje which in Spain means a paid road or toll road) which will get you to Marbella
quicker and with less traffic. Although there are tolls to be paid along the way, usually between 2 and 4 Euros per toll station, this road is much easier
and more stress-free for those unfamiliar with the Spanish roads.
Things to Do in Marbella
If you are looking for entertainment then Marbella is second to none on the Costa del Sol. The range of activities is huge and includes horse riding,
canoeing, scuba diving, adventure treks, sailing, fishing, water sports, field sports (e.g. tennis, football, rugby etc), cinema, theatre, abseiling,
cruises, go-karting, super car hire, dolphin trips and much much more. Marbella is a hub of activity all year round and is a particular favourite for people
looking to rent long term or short term on the Costa del Sol.
If you prefer to engage in more cultural activities then there are lots of local Ferias (fairs) and of course there is the Marbella bullring, which has
been going since 1964. The bullring is spectacular and holds almost 10,000 spectators.
Long Term Lets in Marbella
Like most of the Costa del Sol, Marbella is home to tens of thousands of apartments, villas, townhouses and penthouses, more and more of which are
available for long term lets. The laws governing the leasing of properties in Marbella are the same as for those all over the Costa del Sol. In order to rent
a property long term, a security deposit is required (this is in fact common throughout the world). The norm in Spain for the security deposit is the
equivalent of a month's rent, although this can change and is totally dependant on the owner. Some owners prefer to hold more than a months rent due to the
value of the property or the value of the contents, which in Marbella can often be very high.
