This famous area - is one of the best known names along the Costa del Sol! In the port itself you can sit and
enjoy a glass of Sangria whilst watching the world go by, with some luxurious yachts and beautiful people to entertain, shops like Gucci,
Dior and of course Louis Vuitton and Ferraris and Lamborghinis galore!
The first line has a great selection of bars and restaurants, everything from pizza/pasta to the well knows lubina (sea bass)and king
prawns. For a pleasant day out you may also get a boat from here to Marbella and may even see dolphins on the way. On the second line you
will find many night clubs open till the early (very early!) hours of the morning. Banus doesn't really come awake untill 1030 am - during
the summer the square in Marina Banus has a night market and small funfair for the children.
The Corte Ingles is the department store found in the heart of Banus, and here again are many bars and restaurants to choose from - try
Pinxtos opposite the store for a fantastic selection of hot and cold tapas. In Banus there are several other shops including Zara and Mango
and a few smaller boutiques, and of course a social weekly event is the Saturday market which opens around 10am and carries on through until
about 2.30pm - this is located by the bullring in Centro Plaza - the whole of Banus descends here on a Saturday morning to people watch,
have breakfast and make a few purchases. The bullring itself has recently been renovated and hosted the recent Davis Cup matches between
Spain and Germany, the plan is hold concerts there throughout the year. Accommodation in Banus is slightly more expensive than its outlying
areas - although normally properties would be walking distance to the several beaches surrounding the port.
Ocean Club is a celebrity spotting mecca - a beach club with chill out beds, an enormous swimming pool, resident DJ who plays the latest
hits throughout the day and a restaurant - it may be pricey but well worth it for a special day. Plaza beach is slightly younger beach club
again here you can enjoy drink and food and the hits blast out all through the day. My personal favourite is the newly opened Buddha Beach,
on a slightly smaller scale than Ocean Club, with a swimming pool, chill out beds, professional staff and bar and restaurant.
