Torrenueva is the perfect holiday and residential location for all, fabulously situated smack bang between La Cala de Mijas and Miraflores, Riviera. Torrenueva is well established, quaint and pretty with ample amenities, restaurants and beach bars within easy walking distance. Perhaps one of the nicest things about getting a long term rental in Torrenueva is the stunning Torrenuevea beach and escalade, where you can also find a children’s park/activity area and shower/toilet/washing facilities.
If you are of the active sort then you can take the beautiful stroll along from Torrenueva beach to La Cala beach, with its lovely picturesque square and children’s pirate ship park nearby, and this would roughly take you about 15 minutes, or you could choose the path which would take you a maximum of 10- 15 minutes into the very heart of La Cala de Mijas town and all it has to offer.
To the other side of Torrenueva is Riviera del Sol and the famous Miraflores Golf course which again is a 10-15 minute walk maximum or of course you could jump on the bus, car or cab and come off directly at the next stop. There are many other golf courses within easy distance, La Noria Golf Course in La Cala de Mijas, and La Siesta’s 9 hole golf course in Calahonda are just two of them, and not forgetting the friendly Bunkers bar in Riviera del Sol which caters for both the advanced players and the amateurs alike with a driving range and putting field...and of course a beer or two!
If you are thinking of renting long term in Torrenueva, it can be accessed easily from the airport via the N340 motorway or (carretera). If you are coming from the Fuengirola direction, you would come off at the next stop after La Cala (opposite the BP Garage) and carry on this road adjacent to the N340 and follow the road around, or you could come off at La Cala, past the post office and keep in the same direction. If you were coming from the Marbella direction you would take the turning before the main La Cala de Mijas turning and come back on yourself.
There is plenty of free parking for the extensive beaches that Torrenueva has to offer as well as some lovely Chiringuito’s, bars and a minimarket which will sell you everything from a lilo, bucket and spade and sun cream, to a loaf of bread and tonight’s dinner! All in all Torrenueva is a truly beautiful little place with something for everyone!!
